Rates & Insurance

Concierge Rate

The current rate for concierge therapy is $300.00 per session. The monthly retainer is $1,200 which is equivalent to 4 sessions a month. Additional hours can be applied to the retainer at the current rate per session. For clients under the concierge rate, the sessions are 60-minutes each and can be scheduled within 2 hours Monday through Friday from 10:00 AM until 6:00 PM. Telehealth allows flexibility for scheduling which allows you to have a session at your convenience without having to sit in traffic. Please note, in-person sessions have an additional $40.00 charge.

Those who wish to work with me at a standard rate may do so at $150.00 per session with a session length of 45-minutes. Standard sessions have limited availability and are first come first serve. I accept all major credit cards and Venmo as forms of payment.

Cancellation Policy

If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure you cancel at least 24 hours beforehand. Otherwise, you may be charged for the full rate of the session.

Three reasons why insurance is not being accepted.

You should be able to grow and change in a safe environment. At the core, counseling can be a vulnerable experience. That’s why Morning Coffee Counseling fiercely protects our client’s confidentiality and goals for growth. Since we opened our doors in 2020, we have never directly billed insurance. This may seem odd, but since our core value is confidentiality and doing what’s in the best interest of our clients, we continue this. Here is why we do it

Reason #1: It’s Not Confidential

Insurance companies require us to use an Electronic Medical Records system (EMR) if we take insurance. Last year alone, the Department of Health and Human Services Recorded 24,000 HIPAA violations. Over time we disclose information to third-party insurance or technology companies, there is increased risk to your information being out there. As well, if you eventually need a federal background check, want to be a pilot, or a variety of other reasons, a diagnosis can be disclosed through your insurance. We want you to have the most confidential counseling!

Reason #2 You Have to be Diagnosed

In order to have insurance cover counseling, we have to diagnose you. Even if it’s not appropriate, there has to be a diagnosis. Similar to reason one, we don’t think you should have a mental health diagnosis on your permanent medical record. To us, everyone should have access to counseling. We can all use a little help! We want you to get help without having to have a diagnosis!

Reason #3 They Decide your Treatment

Insurance companies decide treatment. They determine the number of sessions and the frequency. We believe this should be you and your therapist’s choice. Sometimes you need shorter sessions or longer ones. Maybe you need them twice per week or four times per month. When an insurance company is involved, they decide payment. Our clients enjoy the freedom to choose what is best along with their therapist. we want you to get the best quality of counseling treatment!
